Parent Forum

18 January 18

A big thank you to everyone who attended Parent Voice on Friday 12th January 2018.  I hope that you enjoyed our breakfast of salmon fish fingers and courgette and orange cake as much as I did!

It was great to see so many familiar faces but I do hope that more new faces are able to attend the next session.  I do take on board that whilst the original date of the 15th December 2017 was very well published the change in date (due to the impact of the snow closures) was not so well published.

We are going to try to time the next Parent Voice with the parent lunch that was requested by those who were able to attend Parent Voice.  We will confirm the date as soon as we can.

Kate Meecham—Chair of Governors.

SNOW UPDATE: Wednesday 13th – OPEN

12 December 17

School is open tomorrow (Wednesday 13th December).   Children can arrive anytime between 8:40 and 9:10.  Please wrap up in extra layers as it is colder in school due to the freezing temperature.  Whilst we are clearing the site, the roads into school are still icy so please wear suitable footwear and take extra care.

Due to the school closure there will be some changes to our original Christmas plans. The school fayre will not take place tomorrow as previously planned.

Zone assembly and parent voice will also be postponed- we’ll update you with a new date for these as soon as possible.  Winter Wonderland was due to take place today but will now take place on Friday 15th December so please bring wellies and warm clothes on this day.

The Christmas production at Rising Brook church will still take place on Tuesday 19th December and Christmas party day will be on Monday 18th December as previously planned.

Once again we thank you for your patience.

SNOW UPDATE: Tuesday 12th – CLOSED

11 December 17

Having taken reports from staff and governors concerning conditions around Stafford, they are all consistently reporting severe issues with ice on roads and pavements. Given the extremely low temperatures forecast for tonight (as low as -10C) this could cause problems for the morning travel to school. Consequently, in agreement with the Chair of Governors, I am closing the school again tomorrow, Tuesday 12 December. Again, I apologise for the inconvenience caused but the safety of everyone is paramount and I believe that the journey to school, at what is of course the coldest point of the day, is an unjustifiable risk. This is always an extremely difficult decision to make, and your support in this matter is very much appreciated.
Mrs Tewley

SNOW UPDATE: Monday 11th – CLOSED

10 December 17

Dear parents

I have taken the decision to close the school tomorrow. This decision has not been taken lightly. I have been informed that the conditions in Stafford are not great and that many roads are currently impassable. Myself and several members of staff have attempted the journey to Stafford today to judge the routes for tomorrow and several of us have even struggled to leave our homes. As always thank you for your continued support.

I will send a text tomorrow regarding Tuesday as soon as I have made a decision.

Artsmark Success – Silver Award

20 October 17

RPA is pleased to announce that last week we received confirmation that we have been awarded the Artsmark Silver Award, which we will hold for the next 2 years. The panel comments:

“Your children are offered equal opportunity to participate in a diverse range of arts and cultural experiences and you recognise the importance of development opportunities for your staff in these areas. You understand the value of working with arts and cultural organisations and your children and young people have an opportunity to develop their knowledge, skills and understanding of arts and culture and you are working to build on the foundations of your provision.”

Well done to all the staff and children for their commitment and hard work, and particularly to Mrs Lord, who led our Artsmark application.
